Bars and shelves

Adding bottles

Open My Shelf in the tab bar. Type one or more bottles into the box under On the shelf, separated by commas, and press Add. You can also tap bottles under Add by category, or Add the essentials. Shelf & Shaker works out what each one is:

  • Brand names keep their name on the shelf and count as their type. Cointreau counts as triple sec, Maker's Mark as bourbon.
  • General names count toward any recipe in that family. Rum satisfies recipes calling for white or dark rum, and whiskey covers bourbon and rye.
  • Anything it doesn't recognise stays on the shelf with a dashed outline. It doesn't count toward recipes yet.

Suggestions appear as you type. Tap × on a bottle to remove it, or Clear shelf to empty it; Undo puts it all back for a few seconds afterwards.

Fill levels

Fill levels are optional. Tap the small Fill tag on a bottle to cycle through Full, Half, Low and back to untracked. Bottles marked Low are listed under Running low so you know what to restock. A bottle counts as on the shelf whatever its level.

Several bars

Keep a separate shelf for each place you pour, such as the home bar, the cabin or the office. Use Your bars, at the side of the My Shelf page, to rename, add (up to 10) or delete a bar, and switch between bars with the buttons at the top of the page (they appear once you have a second bar). Every bar uses the same recipes.

Bar tools

Under the shelf, open Bar tools and tap the tools this bar has: jigger, shaker, strainers, muddler and so on. Each recipe lists the tools it needs, and the ones you have show with a ✓, the same way bottles do.
